Presidente da instituição anunciou possível união do sistema com o WhatsApp Pay

O presidente do Banco Central, Roberto Campos Neto, revelou nesta semana que a instituição tem planos de levar o sistema de pagamentos instantâneos Pix para o WhatsApp, numa possível integração com a ferramenta WhatsApp Pay.

Em discurso no evento online internacional Global Technology Summit, sediado na Índia, Campos Neto destacou que também pretende estender o Pix para outras plataformas. "Não queremos apenas o WhatsApp, mas também o Google... todos. O BC está oferecendo que todos possam competir no mesmo nível", disse o executivo, que ressaltou: "Apenas autorizamos o WhatsApp porque avaliamos que ele está pronto para atuar".

Na ocasião, Campos Neto ainda avaliou a ampla adesão ao serviço, criado para ser "rápido, seguro, barato, transparente e aberto". "Escolhas como esta possibilitam novos negócios. A reação do sistema financeiro foi boa e [o Pix] não só substitui as formas tradicionais de pagamentos eletrônicos, como fez a receita financeira crescer", declarou.
